LECTURE TITLE: “Genesis of a Limestone Cave and associated Minerals." Ever wonder where the Desert Museum's caves came from? Follow along with Anna as she takes you through the concept, construction and final outcome of a project that was 5 years in the making and after 40 years, still remains the largest walk-through artificial cave anywhere in the world. From then to now, the caves continue to make visitors comment, "How fortunate that the Desert Museum had these caves here when the Museum got started." As a special treat, Anna will show a select group of mineral specimens from the Desert Museum's permanent mineral collection.
